TAX ADMINISTRATION PRESS RELEASEA lecture on the theme Anticorruption efforts with the accent on prevention was organized today, 29.05.2009., by the Tax Administration and the Directorate for Anti-Corruption Initiative.The lecture, held at the premises of the Tax Administration, that was attended by 20 tax auditors from Podgorica, Nikšić, Budva and Bar, was opened by the Director, Mirjana Pešalj, who welcomed all attendants. She principally pointed out that this lecture is one in a series of activities that the Tax Administration actively and transparently carries out within its regular tasks and a way in which these to Administrations continue their up to now successfull cooperation. She said:Corruption is a cause of many disruptions in economic systems and societies overall. It jeopardizes realising of principal human rights and freedoms, unables the rule of law and diminishes trust in democratic governing. It also affects unfair delamination within societies and principal values. Thus, efficient fight against corruption represents one of the most important activities that every modern society has to undertake, not only on international, but also on internal level. Dr Vesna Ratković spoke about the importance of preventive action against felonies of corruption and activities for elimination of corruption carried out on the national and international level. She presented principal activities and priorities of the Directorate and the Government of Montenegro on fighting corruption, with the overview of the Inovated Action Plan for implementation of the Program for fight against corruption and organized crime, which is aimed for the Tax Administration also. Ratković paid special attention to anti-corruptive principles in state administration, defined by the Law on State Officials and Employees and Ethical Codex of state officials and employees.
